to get your teeth the results they deserve.

InBrace® is a personalized behind-the-teeth, teeth straightener – that’s completely hidden.

Our InBrace Smartwire® works like autopilot. The Smartwire is programmed with Gentleforce® technology from advanced shape memory alloy to gently move your teeth into place.

This means no monthly tightenings or tray changes. And you can eat, drink, brush and floss normally – while treatment keeps working.

Gentleforce® technology, paired with algorithms through advanced computer-modeling, move your teeth efficiently. This process speeds up the treatment time and produces optimal results. You will have a beautiful smile in no time, without the discomfort of bulky braces on the most visible surfaces of your teeth.

Are Lingual Braces Right for You?

The original alignment of the teeth is essential to consider before beginning treatment. Because of the positioning of lingual braces, this treatment isn’t a good option for patients with deep overbites. Here are a few considerations you need to discuss with your orthodontist before choosing lingual braces:

  • Overbite: Your orthodontist needs to consider the current connecting points of your bite to avoid issues with other teeth coming in contact with the brackets. For example, if an overbite results in pressure being placed on the brackets, then it can cause the treatment to fail because the brackets will fall off from the pressure.

  • Dental Hygiene: Also, keep in mind that it can take a little more work to clean lingual braces. The placement behind the teeth makes it harder to reach the areas where food can become trapped. So, this orthodontic treatment is only recommended for adults.

  • Speech: The position of the brackets behind the teeth can change the movement of your tongue and affect your speech. For example, some people talk with a slight lisp when they are getting used to the feel of lingual braces.

  • Tongue: Your tongue will hit against the brackets, which can result in the formation of sores. The longer you wear the braces, the more your mouth will adjust, and the pain and irritation will go away.

Each patient's needs are different, which is why it’s smart to talk to an experienced orthodontist before choosing the optimal treatment plan. At Bronzeville Orthodontics, we provide various treatment options to cater to the unique needs of each person. Benefits of InBrace Lingual Braces

Not only is InBrace entirely out of sight, but there are various other reasons why people choose this treatment method instead of different forms of orthodontics. Here are some of the most notable benefits of InBrace:

  • Compliance Free: You have a hands-off treatment system when using InBrace instead of clear aligners. Since the InBrace bands and brackets are secured to the back of your teeth, you don’t need to worry about removing or replacing any of the equipment. On the other hand, it takes a bit of work to keep up with the compliance required for clear aligners since those trays are removable.

  • Convenience While Eating: It can be awkward to remove your clear aligner trays every time you want a snack or meal. The benefit of InBrace is that your orthodontic equipment can stay in place while you are eating.

  • Easy Flossing: With traditional braces, it takes a lot of work to floss because you need to carefully thread the floss between the teeth and through the wires. With InBrace, the wires are carefully positioned so you can floss without using special tools. As a result, it’s easier to maintain good dental hygiene during the treatment.

  • Invisible Placement: Since the brackets and wires are positioned behind the teeth, it’s virtually invisible to other people. Friends and family won’t be able to tell that you are wearing braces because of the hidden nature of this treatment.

One minor drawback to InBrace is that this treatment is a bit more expensive compared to traditional orthodontics. But many people feel like it’s worth the cost to minimize the appearance when wearing braces. Also, this treatment is only effective for minor or moderate orthodontic needs. Severe cases might require traditional braces instead.

If you’d like to enjoy these benefits for yourself, then talk to our team at Bronzeville Orthodontics to learn more about this treatment. We’ll gladly answer your questions and help you decide if it’s the right solution for your needs.

 InBrace: How It Works

When you decide to move forward with InBrace, we start by taking a digital scan to understand the current position of your teeth. Our team uses high-tech tools to design your perfect smile, giving you a preview of what you will look like when the treatment is finished.

The InBrace system creates a Smartwire® with a custom design to match your teeth. When this wire is ready, your orthodontist will place the InBrace brackets on the back surface of your teeth. Then, the wire is attached to start moving your teeth into the ideal position.

The benefit of using the Smartwire® is that it leverages three dimensions of gentle pressure to optimize the movement of your teeth. The wires and brackets are designed using a slim fit system with a locking loop design. It’s a friction-free system that maintains the necessary torque to move your teeth without the high-profile brackets that are common with traditional orthodontics.

When your teeth are aligned, then the orthodontist will remove the brackets and wire. You’ll have a beautiful smile that can last a lifetime!
